This begs the question, what purpose do morale, vigour and marching play with this potential new setup for movement since it does not use a maximum travel distance based on the MP values? I'm not too sure they need to play a role in this game mechanic. These two changes along would remove the need for MP completely and do away with the camp pop up window which only serves to delay movement in this gorgeous world. Obviously this could also affect vigour and morale values in the same manner. Their affected variables would be dynamic, changing or staying constant (either with each node jump or after a certain distance has been travelled), depending on the settings you choose at the current node. Put the payment, ration, obedience and security options on the main HUD and allowing them to be adjusted while travelling. But moving between nodes needs a rethink.Ī game called Caravaneer did world movement really well and it's what I think Vagrus should take inspiration from in this regard, some suggestions below:Ĭhange movement such that travelling between nodes would eat up a smaller portion of your food supply every jump rather than having a large chunk taken out when MP is used up and players need to camp to regain that MP. I really like the nodal layout of the map and I think that should stay as it gives Vagrus character. Yes that is a part of why this game is so great, but in this instance, it seems like overly-complex bloat where there should be none. It feels like a needless step within this game which already has a significant amount of windows to search and click through. To stop and start my travels repeatedly because I've run out of MP and then having the camping UI pop up to only click end day so I can move more gets rather annoying and repetitive after just a few trade routes are completed. In regards to the movement across the map: There is a general staggered feeling once you get a team well equipped such that both vigour and morale are maxed and you have excess money or food supplies so that you never need to change any settings like rationing or delaying payment, respectively. Hopefully these are useful as I am a really big fan and want this game to succeed! So I've been playing this for the past few days and I have a couple of suggestions that I think would make the game smoother to play.
